Some contain a lot of information, while others do not. For some countries where it is politically unstable, the information about freedom of the press may be out-of-date. Based in Paris, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) is an independent non-governmental organization (NGO) with consultative status with the United Nations, UNESCO and other organizations. Reporters Without Borders (RSF) provides information about the media freedom situation worldwide. After checking and corroborating our information, RSF issues press releases every day about abuses against journalists and about the many different kinds of censorship. Reporters without Borders compiles the The World Press Freedom Index every year to evaluate the level of freedom available to the media in 180 countries.
