The Texas Bandmasters Association has worked diligently over the past years to further the cause of instrumental music education in the communities throughout the Lone Star State.

Texas Choral Directors Association (TCDA) is a professional, member-based community and network of choir directors from various environments from all over Texas. This includes individuals in K-12, college/university, community choruses, worship chorus leaders, private instructors, fine arts administrators, and avid supporters of the choral profession.

Since 1920, TMEA has worked to ensure excellence in music education for all Texas students. Over 13,000 school music educators are TMEA members belonging to one of five TMEA Divisions: Band, Orchestra, Vocal, Elementary and College.

The mission of ACDA is to inspire excellence and nurture lifelong involvement in choral music for everyone through education, performance, composition and advocacy.

The purpose of the Society is to promote scholarship and a general understanding of the full creative and historical significance of Franz Liszt on the education and development of both the composition and performance of music throughout the Western World.

The American School Band Directors Association, or ASBDA, is a professional association of band directors teaching at the elementary- or secondary-school level.

The College Music Society promotes music teaching and learning, musical creativity and expression, research and dialogue, and diversity and interdisciplinary interaction. A consortium of college, conservatory, university, and independent musicians and scholars interested in all disciplines of music, the Society provides leadership and serves as an agent of change by addressing concerns facing music in higher education.

Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) is a nonprofit organization of more than 16,000 independent and collegiate music teachers committed to advancing the value of music study and music making to society and to supporting the professionalism of music teachers.

The National Association for Music Education is an organization of American music educators dedicated to advancing and preserving music education as part of the core curriculum of schools in the United States.

The Society of Composers, Inc. is a professional society dedicated to the promotion, performance, understanding and dissemination of new and contemporary music. Members include composers both in and outside academia interested in addressing these concerns on a national and regional level.

The Society for Music Theory is an American organization devoted to the promotion, development and engagement of music theory as a scholarly and pedagogical discipline.

The International Society for Music Education (ISME) believes that lived experiences of music, in all their many aspects, are a vital part of the life of all people. ISME's mission is to enhance those experiences by:

• Building and maintaining a worldwide community of music educators characterised by mutual respect and support
• Fostering global intercultural understanding and cooperation among the world's music educators
• Promoting music education for people of all ages in all relevant situations throughout the world

The IPPA is a highly diverse and international community that is designed to meet the practical needs of piano students and piano teachers.
