Hispanic vs. Latino

What's the difference between Hispanic and Latino?

  • Hispanic specifically concerns the Spanish-language-speaking Latin America and Spain.
  • Latino and Latina specifically concern those from Latin American countries and cultures, regardless of whether the person speaks Spanish.
