eBooks in the Library Catalog

You can search in the Library Catalog by clicking on the image of the catalog below

But the more common way to access the Library Catalog is to select  on the Library Home page as is shown below.

Finding EBooks

One way to find ebooks, is to use the Library catalog. The Library Catalog can be used to locate books and ebooks by title, author, and subject.  It contains records for books and ebooks in the West Library.  To find an ebook, do the following:

1. Go to the West Library main page at https://westlibrary.txwes.edu

2. Click on the  tab to the left of the search box.

3. Type in your search terms in the search box  undefined

4. Click on the undefinedButton to the left of the search box

5. You will be taken to the search results page, as is shown below:

 


6. On the right is a list of books that match your search terms, On the left are ways that you can narrow your search further.  To narrow to just ebooks, click on the ebooks button on the left.

7. Click on the ebook button and the results list is narrowed down to just ebooks on your topic

In each record, you can see basic information about a specific ebook. See an example of a single record of an ebook below:

Once an ebook is found in the catalog, to access an ebook, you need to look at the record to see an availability link.  In the example above, it says Available via EBSCO eBook Collection

If an ebook in the catalog is from another database besides EBSCO eBook Collection, then you may see a link that says

When you click on the link, it will take NOT you to the eBook, if you are off of the Texas Wesleyan campus. It will take you first to an Off-Campus Access Login page, as is shown below:

Type in your username and password, which is your RAMLINK username and password

Then you are taken to the ebook, as is shown below:

You can now do the following:

  • You can read the entire ebook online without checking it out.
  • You can select and Save selected pages from the book
  • You can select and E-mail selected pages from the book
  • You can select and Print out selected pages of the book
You don't have to check out the ebook to be able to save, e-mail or print out pages of the book

 

When you click on either save. email or print, you will next see one of the boxes below

For this book, the number of available pages to save, email or print is 60 pages. Different books have a different number of available pages.
