Library Work Focus

Reference librarians focus on helping people find information. My work includes assisting with research, citation management, using online databases, and guiding patrons in developing effective search strategies. I also promote information literacy through workshops, help users navigate technology, and collaborate with other departments. I also serve as the Social Science Research Methods embedded librarian.

Library Instruction Subjects

Library faculty work with teaching faculty to tailor library instruction to the needs of the class and faculty goals. We strive to provide instruction that is timely, complete, and specific.

I provide library instruction to courses under the following programs:

  • Academic Success Experience (ASE)
  • Criminal Justice
  • Family Nurse Practitioner
  • History
  • Music
  • Nursing Anesthesia
  • Paralegal Studies
  • Political Science
  • Sociology
  • Spanish
  • Speech

Library Liaison

A library liaison is a library faculty member who is officially designated as the key point of contact between the library and a specific academic unit, which could be a school, department, or center. The liaison also serves as an “ambassador” for the Library to the unit, promoting the Library’s resources, services, and events and advocating for support of the Library’s needs.

I am the liaison for:

  • Academic Success Experience (ASE)
  • Dual Enrollment
  • Ram Success

What I do not know, I learn; what I learn, I master; what I master, I will teach, prepare, and focus on Generation Z, Texas Wesleyan students, faculty, staff, and community users. I aim to build a community fostering a sense of belonging and lifetime knowledge skill seekers. I enjoy promoting information literacy and inspiring lifelong learning by providing personal and classroom library instructions.

I am honored to be a proud retired Army Veteran who enjoys volunteering in the community on campus; I enjoy reading, walking, crocheting, and empowering students to be all they can be.
