Student - Any student enrolled in the University.
Loan Periods
Loan period - 3 weeks
Maximum number of items checked out - 25 items
including:
- up to 15 Juvenile Books
- up to 5 games or audio/visual items
Late Fees/Fines
There are no late fees for overdue materials. However, if materials are not returned to the library, there will be a hold placed on your record. You will not be able to access your University records, including grades or transcripts.
Fees will be charged for items lost of damaged. If a current replacement cost for the same or more recent edition cannot be determined, the default price is $40.00 for General Collection and $15.00 for Juvenile items, plus a $5.00 processing fee.
Borrower Identification
All materials must be checked out with a picture ID: valid campus ID or driver's license. Stolen or lost ID cards should be reported to the circulation desk and replaced before checking out materials.
Circulation of Materials
All materials are brought to the circulation desk for checkout or renewal. Materials circulate for a loan period corresponding with the material type. Non-circulating items include materials from reference, periodicals, microforms and Special Collections. Reserves checkouts are determined by faculty.
Library Holds
Holds may be placed in the online library catalog for items currently checked out. Holds cannot be placed for items listed as reserve, lost, missing or on order. Students are notified when the item becomes available. Items waiting for pickup are held at the circulation desk for two days. Library staff may place a hold for a student at the Circulation Desk.
Faculty - Individuals who are appointed faculty/instructors, or who are retired from the Texas Wesleyan faculty.

Faculty members may authorize a student assistant to check out materials for him/her by sending written authorization to the circulation supervisor. At the library, the student assistant must provide a campus ID before checking out materials for the professor. Authorizations are maintained for the current semester, but not transferable to future semesters unless reissued by the faculty member.
Staff - Any non-student personnel of the University. If a staff member is enrolled for classes, the loan period reverts to that of a student.

Borrower Identification
Alumni may obtain a Texas Wesleyan Alumni ID card at the Circulation Desk of the West Library. Graduates of the University qualify as alumni borrowers. A current picture ID and personal diploma card or an alumni card prepared at the circulation desk is required for check our privileges.
Computer Services
Alumni users do have internet-accessible computer privileges. Alumni do NOT have access to online library resources from off-campus.
Community patrons may check out materials with a current picture ID and current TexShare card.

Community patrons do not have access to the internet-accessible computers or wireless internet access. The TexShare Card is a statewide library card for registered users of participating TexShare Libraries. To take advantage of the TexShare Card Program: Students and faculty may register for and receive a TexShare Card at West Library's Circulation Desk. Student cards expire at the end of each semester. For information on participating libraries and their lending policies visit their site. Present your TexShare card at the participating TexShare library's circulation desk to activate your checkout privileges. You may be required to show a photo I.D. Check out materials from the participating TexShare library. Return the materials to the lending library by the due date. Fees will be assessed for lost, late, or damaged materials.
You can either visit the Circulation Desk or click on the "Renew Books" below. To log into your account, enter your barcode and PIN in the upper right hand corner of the catalog. Your barcode is your Wesleyan student ID number and the default PIN is the first 8 letters of your last name. Once you have logged in, look for the "my account" link at the top of the screen on the blue bar. Then click on "renew my materials."
If your pin does not work, click on the "Reset PIN"; link under the account login fields. Your PIN will be emailed to your Wesleyan e-mail account. If you still cannot log in, please contact the Reference Desk at 817-531-4802.
Overdue materials cannot be renewed. Materials cannot be renewed over the phone.
Renewal requests for Interlibrary Loan items must be made four (4) days before the item is due. Due dates and conditions of the loan are determined by the lending library.
