Join West Library for the Second Annual Wesleyan Local Author day as we celebrate students, staff, and alumni who have published with a small, indepentend press or have self-published.  This year's authors include Perry Cockerell, Jacque Dodson, Linda Lee, Tamika Roberts, with special guest Michelle Hartman.  The event will consist of a panel discussion and book sale.

Join us for a Mitchell-Reed Community of Learners Lecture at 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at the Bernice Coulter Templeton Art Studio.  Artists Genevieve Armstrong and Juan Cruz will be present to give an artist talk on the art exhibition, ANIMUS, curated by Tom Motley.  Brown bag lunches are welcome; light refreshments will be provided by the Office of the Provost.

Texas Wesleyan University and West Library will be closed October 6th.  Normal library hours will resume October 7th.

News From EBSCO

Beginning on or after May 15, 2018, EBSCO users who authenticate via Personal User Accounts (PUA) as well as users of MyEBSCOhost folders will be asked to review and accept EBSCO’s Privacy Policy in order to continue using these services. This change was previously announced as part of our ongoing effort to enhance security for our products and services.

The annual West Library Christmas Tree Decorating Contest is upon us!  The contest begins on Nov. 11 and 50 trees are available on a first-come, first-served basis for groups and individuals to decorate. 
 
Miniature trees can be picked up from the Circulation Desk during business hours starting Nov. 11, and return it no later than Dec. 4 to have it put on display. 
 
Decoration categories include Traditional Christmas, Wesleyan Tradition and Non-Traditional.

We'll announce the winners of the Christmas tree decorating contest on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at noon on the first floor of the library.  Two prizes will be awarded in each category (Traditional, Non-traditional and Wesleyan).
 
The Christmas tree auction will start shortly after the winners are announced.  Bidding for all trees starts at $10, with all proceeds going to Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County. Joe "Pro Joe" Brown will serve as auctioneer, and festive cookies and hot chocolate will be served during the event.

All the excitement over the university’s new Steinway piano has inspired the library to begin digitizing the works of George Anson and other ephemera from his time at Texas Wesleyan.
