Reference & Instruction

The Reference and Instruction Department's ultimate purpose is to connect students, faculty, and staff with the information they seek. Thus, this department facilitates patron access to information resources and provides instruction on the use and potential of those resources. Anyone is welcome to come by the reference desk for assistance during reference hours, or to schedule an individual consultation by contacting the reference department to schedule a time. Faculty can also schedule an instruction librarian to speak with their students on research topics particular to their course requirements and curriculum.

Do you know that the West Library has eBooks?

Did you know that the Eunice & James L. West Library has eBooks?  It has access to hundreds of thousands of them!   Come learn about this great resource and how to access and use eBooks by attending the workshop on Thursday, April 21, 2022 here in the West Library Orientation Room at 2 PM.  You will also learn about the great advantages of using eBooks!  

Library Renovation Update

Library renovations are still underway as we continue to update our space for you!  Carpet replacement will soon begin on the 2nd floor and is expected to take 4 weeks.  The 2nd floor will be closed starting on Feb. 21, and is expected to reopen Mar. 21. We are still eagerly anticipating the reopening of the 3rd floor at a later date; thank you for your patience!

Well, are you aware that you can with a librarian while still in the database?

To access the live chat with a librarian while in an EBSCO database, simply find  the  link in the upper right corner of all search results pages in all EBSCO databases, including EBSCO Discovery Service (search everything), Academic Search Complete, Business Source Complete, Education Source, and other EBSCO databases.
