From Dallas: Take I-30 West to the Beach St. exit. Turn left on Beach. Turn left at Rosedale St. Turn left on Wesleyan St. The library will be on the right side of the street just past the Administration Building.

From Denton, North Fort Worth: Take I-35W South to I-30 East. Exit at Beach St. Turn right on Beach. Turn left at Rosedale St. Turn left on Wesleyan St. The library will be on the right side of the street just past the Administration Building.

From Burleson, South Fort Worth: Take I-35W North to I-30 East. Exit at Beach St. Turn right on Beach. Turn left at Rosedale St. Turn left on Wesleyan St. The library will be on the right side of the street just past the Administration Building.

From Weatherford, West Fort Worth: Take I-30 East to the Beach St. exit. Turn right on Beach. Turn left at Rosedale St. Turn left on Wesleyan St. The library will be on the right side of the street just past the Administration Building.

From the DFW Airport: Take the TX-360/TX-183 exit towards Arlington/Grand Prairie. Follow signs for TX-183/Ft.Worth and merge onto TX-183 West. Merge onto I-820 South. Take exit 30B for I-820/TX-180 toward TX-303 Spur/Lancaster Ave/Rosedale St. Follow signs for Rosedale St./TX-303 Spur. Take a right at Rosedale St. Turn right on Wesleyan St. The library will be on the right side of the street just past the Administration Building.

There are both group study rooms and individual study rooms in the library. The group study rooms, which can seat 4, are on the second floor. There is also one large group study room on the second floor that can seat up to 6 people. The individual study rooms are on the third floor (the quiet floor). You cannot reserve a study room. Please do not leave your belongings in a study room unattended. Items left in the study rooms will be taken to the lost and found at the Circulation Desk.

Our third floor is the Quiet Study Floor. Conversations, group study, and cell phone conversations are not permitted on this floor. This also applies to the study rooms on the third floor.

We ask that all patrons are courteous to others in the library by keeping conversations quiet and cell phone ringers set to silent or vibrate.

All children under 16 must be with you at all times in the Library. Children may not be left in the Library unattended. Do not leave unattended children in the Juvenile Section. You are responsible for their behavior in the Library and you may be asked to leave if they cause a disruption.

Food and drinks are allowed in the library. Please clean up after yourself and dispose of any trash. Coffee and tea are available for free during certain hours on the first floor.

Individuals and groups may request tours of the library. Tours must be scheduled in advance. Please contact a Reference Librarian to schedule a tour of the library. Prospective students, please contact Admissions to schedule a campus tour.

The University Archives and West Library Special Collections are viewable by appointment only. Please contact the University Archivist, Mr. Louis Sherwood, by email or at 817-531-4822.

Only University faculty and staff may reserve library rooms.
Reserve a Room

Orientation Room

  • The West Library Orientation Room is used primarily for library orientations conducted by the library staff.
  • The Orientation Room is also intended for professional meetings and/or educational events. The room is not to be used for student organizations or testing.
  • Faculty or staff must be present at all times during the reserved time in the Orientation Room.
  • Food and drinks are permitted in the Orientation Room with the expectation that all remnants and trash will be removed by the person making the reservations. Rearranging the seating is allowed. Please return the room to its original state at the end of your event.
  • The Orientation Room has seating for about 30 people. It is outfitted with a laptop, projector, DVD player, VCR player, chalkboard and Smart Board (interactive whiteboard).
  • The Orientation Room can only be unlocked for the person (or staff representative from the same department, but not a student worker) who made the reservation.
  • Please make your reservation for the total time you will need access to the room, including set-up and break-down.

 

West Conference Room

  • The West Conference Room is intended for professional meetings and/or educational events only. It is not intended for training, testing, or student organizations.
  • The West Conference Room is located on the third floor of the library and contains one long conference table that seats 16. The Conference Room has a projector screen, internet hook-ups and a phone jack. Because the third floor is the library's "quiet study" area, only events that will not cause any disturbance to library users will be permitted, and we ask that the door remain closed during your event.
  • Faculty or staff must be present at all times during the reserved time in the Conference Room.
  • Food and drinks are permitted in the West Conference Room with the expectation that all remnants and trash will be removed by the person who made the reservation.
  • Please make your reservation for the total time you will need access to the room, including set-up and break-down.

 

The West Library Study Rooms

  • The West Library's study rooms cannot be reserved. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Any questions or problems with Room Reservations should be directed to the Reference Department.

Yes, the library does sell scantrons and Blue Books. You can purchase these at the Circulation Desk (cash only).
