General library information, interlibrary loan, media services, parking stickers, course reserves, TexShare Cards, wireless card checkouts, Wesleyan IDs, and print management accounts are handled by the Circulation department.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where do I get a library card?

Your Wesleyan ID card is your library card. Faculty, staff, current students and alumni can get an ID card from the Circulation Desk of the library.

Q: How do I replace a lost library card?

You can get a replacement student ID card from the Circulation Desk. There is a $15 replacement fee.

Q: How many books may I check out, and for how long?

Current students may check out up to 25 items for 3 weeks. Students may not check out more than 15 juvenile items at a time. Faculty may check out an unlimited number of materials for the semester.

Q: How do I renew library materials?

You can either visit the Circulation Desk or click on the "Renew Books" link in the upper-right-hand corner of the library's homepage. To log into your account, enter your barcode and PIN in the upper right hand corner of the catalog. Your barcode is your Wesleyan student ID number and the default PIN is the first 8 letters of your last name. Once you have logged in, look for the "my account" link at the top of the screen on the blue bar. Then click on "renew my materials."

If your pin does not work, click on the "Reset PIN"  link under the account login fields. Your PIN will be emailed to your Wesleyan e-mail account. If you still cannot log in, please contact the Reference Desk at 817-531-4802.

Overdue materials cannot be renewed. Materials cannot be renewed over the phone.

Q: How do I place a hold on a book?

To place a hold on an item, click the ""place hold"" link on the right hand side of the item information page of the item.

You will be prompted to log on to the library catalog. Your "barcode number" is your student ID number; the default PIN is the first 8 letters of your last name. Patrons may place holds in the library catalog for any items currently checked out.

Holds cannot be placed for items listed as reserve, lost, missing or on order. Students are notified when the material becomes available, and books or other items waiting for pickup are held at the Circulation Desk for two days.

Q: How much are late fees?

The library does not charge late fees for overdue materials. However, your grades and transcripts will not be released at the end of the semester until all your library materials have been returned.

Q: What should I do if I've lost or damaged library material?

A replacement fee plus a processing fee of $5.00 per item is charged for lost or damaged materials. If the replacement price is not noted in the catalog record, the default price is $40.00 for general collection materials and $15.00 for Juvenile materials. You can pay for damaged or lost materials at the Circulation Desk of the library. They accept cash, check, and charge.

Q: What do I need to have to get a parking permit?

Parking permits are available for current students, faculty and staff. Parking permits are issued at the Circulation Desk.

In order to receive a permit, you must have the following information:

  • Wesleyan ID #
  • Driver's License#
  • Vehicle Information (Make, Model, Year, Color)
  • License Plate #

The sticker should be placed on your vehicle's rear glass, on the bottom left (driver's side) corner. Permits are valid for one year.

Q: I have overdue books. Do I have to pay a fine?

No, the Library does not charge late fees. However, if items are not returned, students will have a hold placed on their record.
